Happy + Co

I am always on the lookout for new interior brands and when I received an email from Happy + Co it was unlike any other brand I'd come across before. Happy + Co believe businesses should be socially responsible, so for each product they sell 10% profit is invested in their Happy + Co farm in Cambodia. This provides  much needed jobs for the young men and women, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables for the whole community.  Pretty cool, right?

Happy + Co kindly gifted me an item but before we meet it, let’s talk about the packaging. I am a self-confessed sucker for pretty packaging, and this ticks all of the boxes – the branded dust bag is so cute and really handy to reuse.

Here she is!

Penny, the founder of Happy + co states "all our products are designed to be noticed but, above all, to be loved." And boy, do I love this cushion! I've been moving it into various rooms in the house as you may have seen on my Instagram the cushion now lives on my bed.

I am so happy to be able to collaborate with a company who offer not only great products but a great brand ethos and something to feel good about when shopping for your home. Go check them out!

Bourjoirs: Rouge Laque #LetsPlayLips

A few weeks ago I received a beautiful parcel from Bourjoirs filled with their new Rouge Laque liquid lipsticks

The hook for this new release is offering the intense colours of a traditional lipstick with a longwearing lightweight formula.

Also inside was this gorgeous Lulu Guinness stationary - so excited to use them!

I swatched all 8 colours so you could see them all together

My favourites are Selfpeach! and Toute Nude. This is Selfpeach! on

I'm really impressed with the pigments and how wearable they feel. There was no drying at all, which I tend to find with most lipsticks - top points on that front! Another massive plus from me is the applicator, the shape makes it really easy to apply in one stroke.

I'd recommend picking one of these up if you're looking for something a bit different - well done Bourjoirs!

1 year anniversary!

Hello!

So, this post has been a long time coming - 12 months in fact! We have now lived in our house for exactly 1 year today and I thought it was about time to give an interior update on our DIY adventure so far.

We knew there was quite a bit to do when we bought it in terms of redecorating but we decided to live in the house as it was for a few months to make sure we were 100% sure of what we wanted (and save up again as we'd spent all our money buying the thing!)

One of the biggest renovations we've done is knocking down the wall that divided the back room and the kitchen. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen (David is a much better cook than I am) so we wanted to make it a more communal space and bring in a bit more of the living area to open out the kitchen.

This is a picture of what it looked like before (dodgy estate agent pic):

And what it looks like now:

It was a long few weeks of rubble, dust and wet plaster but once everything was painted and furniture in place we knew we’d made the right decision and we spend most of our time in the back room now.

We still need to finish off the kitchen but just for a little before and after:

I'm so happy with the back room, from the way the wooden floors came up to the colour on the feature wall. All the hours spent sanding/varnishing/painting are well worth it now (and a BIG thanks to our family who helped!)

Next on the list is finishing off the living room and finally moving into the master bedroom as we’re still in-between there and one of the spare rooms.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post – there’s more to come! Follow me on Instagram to see the progress

Also I love seeing other makeovers so if you’ve done your own post or read a great one recently, please leave a comment below!

Bourjois: New Healthy Mix Foundation

So I'm back with another beauty review! This beautiful box turned up at my door and I had no idea what it was...

The lovely team at Bourjois sent me the brand new formula of their original Healthy Mix foundation, having never tried any of their foundations I was very intrigued to see what this one was like.

So I got to work on testing out which shade best fits me and the concealer to go with it. Usually I wear NARS Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc which I'm pretty sure is one of the palest! So I opted for shade 50 'Rose Ivory' and concealer in 'light'.

The formula is very easy to blend which I love, as you can build the coverage depending on what you prefer. the finished look to be. It also has a slight fragrance to it, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that it's enriched with fruit therapy formula; apricot for radiance, melon for hydration and apple to protect youth.

I've been testing this for about two weeks now and the verdict is pretty good! Healthy Mix is the perfect affordable foundation if you like a dewy look that lasts all day. The light concealer was still a little bit too dark for me (#palegirlprobs) but it had great texture and coverage.

Let me know if you have tried this foundation or if it's on your list and let me know your thoughts!

SHOW Beauty - Lux Volume

As you may have seen in previous posts I am a huuuuge fan of SHOW Beauty products. Since first trying them out last year I haven't come across anything similar, which is unusual in the beauty industry!

Check Mate

Hello!

Feels a little strange doing an outfit post seeing as I haven't done one for so long on here! I got this coat from SheIn.com just before Christmas and I have worn it so much! It's perfect for those sunnier winter days which we have enjoyed today.

I will definitely be wearing this coat right through to spring!

I tried out my BaByliss soft curls wand for the first time this morning, quite impressed with the results but I think I have more practising to do as I'm so used to curling with my straighteners. Any tips from curling pros?

Coat - Shein.com
Jumper - Zara
Jeans - Topshop
Bag - Zara
Loafers - boohoo.com

I hope you've enjoyed the return of my #OOTD posts, I've got some posts lined up over the next few days (I know, who am I?!) from beauty to interiors so stay tuned!

Landon Tyler

I want to introduce you to a brand I had the pleasuring of collaborating with a few weeks ago, with one of my favourite ever products - candles!

If you follow me on Instagram, you'll know that my house is full of candles (much to my boyfriend's despair!) Landon Tyler got in touch to see if I wanted to add to my collection.

I received the most beautiful 3 wick candle in the scent Winter Woods. This is a combination of classic Christmas tree, mixing pine, fir, spruce, moss and cardamon. Right up my street!

I got a lot of compliments on the scent when we had visitors over the Christmas holiday, and it's still going strong.

If you're into your home fragrances like I am, I'd highly suggest checking out Landon Tyler. I've got my eye on Golden Amber and Dark Cashmere next.
